A 220 V spray foam machine: when do you need one?

When a spray foam machine on 220 V single-phase power is the right choice, and where its limits are compared with hydraulic machines.

Published 2 min readTrusted Line technical team

Most hydraulic spray foam machines need 380 V three-phase power, which many villas, residential buildings and renovation sites simply do not have. That is where an electric foam machine on 220 V comes in.

The PUSMAK EP 10

The EP 10 is a portable electric spray foam machine from PUSMAK's Electric Series:

  • Runs on 220 V single-phase (18.5 / 23 A)
  • Integrated tanks with 56 L total capacity — no transfer pump needed
  • Can be operated by one person
  • Heated hose up to 33 m
  • Maximum flow 4.5 kg/min and pressure up to 200 bar
  • Weighs 157 kg

When is the EP 10 the right choice?

  • Small insulation jobs: rooms, annexes, villas and small cold rooms
  • Renovation and maintenance sites without three-phase power
  • Tight and hard-to-reach spaces
  • Small crews, or anyone starting a spray foam business

When is it not enough?

  • Large areas: 4.5 kg/min does not compare with 14.8 kg/min on the KPX 50.
  • Long distances: 33 m of hose versus 90–105 m on KPX models.
  • Polyurea: the EP 10 is built for two-component foam; for polyurea you need a machine such as the KPX 20+.

A big project with no three-phase power?

That is what the GENSET is for: a hydraulic machine built around a generator of up to 45 kVA with an integrated air compressor, spraying both foam and polyurea. Read when you need a GENSET.
